STEP 5: TALK TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE.
We represent Jesus in everything we do, that's why our Schools Revolution will be noticed.
Every school is different and has different rules around what is allowed when it comes to Christianity. Your school and its leaders might be open to your faith or closed to your faith, but no matter where they stand, the book of Romans says that your school and its leaders (your principal and teachers) deserve your respect: “Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.” Romans 13:1 (NLT)
If you honour your teachers and principal with your words and actions you are being a good witness for Jesus, you are making it easier for them to support you. If it’s possible, approach your school chaplain, or a trusted teacher and tell them that you’d like to start a Christian bible study at your school. Let them know your game plan and ask for their permission.
If you can’t get permission for a classroom because your school isn’t open to it right now, that’s okay. You can find a public area like an oval or outside eating area and respectfully gather there instead!
STEP 6: LET THE WORD OUT.
This Revolution is too important to keep to ourselves! We're gonna tell anyone and everyone who will listen.
Once you’ve followed Steps 1- 4, it’s time to let everyone know about your School Revolution! Don’t worry about how it sounds or looks, you have nothing to be ashamed of for the book of Romans says: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16 (ESV)
You + a friend who is good with computers, design & print out flyers and post on your social media. Get as many people as you can to share it on their social media too. Remember, the best advertising of all is 'word of mouth'. Start the conversation and tell everyone, + extend the invite! Your School Revolution is going to be NEXT LEVEL! Who wouldn’t want to be there?
If you want to take 'letting the word out' to the next level, talk to your chaplain or teacher about announcing it to your entire school during school assembly! Also getting your youth pastor to spread the word at youth! Every person that attends youth and your school will know about it and you will know that you have pastors, your chaplain, leaders and friends from different schools praying for you and cheering you on!
