Hi There! My name is Charlotte, and I go to Murray Bridge High School in SA!

Today, We’re talking about Purity.

In the Dictionary, Purity is defined as ‘not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material.’ And as Christians, I believe the same should be for us. If we want to be a standing presence for Jesus in our schools, then we better be on fire for him 100%. Our Passion should be PURELY towards him, not mixed with wanting recognition, being cool or anything else we might want. Not only our passion, but our actions, our words, and our hearts should belong purely to God, not doing what WE want, rather submitting everything to God and his plan for us.

That means letting God take control over 100% of our lives, from in our quiet time with him, to in our schools, to at church, we are called to live only for God and lay our lives down for him, doing what HE wants us to do and not what we want. If we really want to see our schools saved, if we want to see our friends living in the joy of christ then we need to declare our lives as PURELY for God, not for our friends, not for ourselves, only for God.

This is hard and even impossible unless we are in God’s strength, unless we are praying daily and reading the bible.

But it’s worth it, your friends will notice you not swearing, your teacher will realise you are different, the students will see that what you are sharing about Jesus isn’t just words, it will set you apart for Jesus, it will turn heads, it will turn hearts, and maybe even see your school saved.

In our world, in our ‘live for yourself’ culture, being ‘Pure in God’ is unheard of, it sounds boring, like it’s not worth it, it sounds crazy, some may even call it Radical.

1 Peter 2:11-12 says:
Dear friends, you are foreigners and strangers on this earth. So I beg you not to surrender to those desires that fight against you. Always let others see you behaving properly, even though they may still accuse you of doing wrong. Then on the day of judgment, they will honor God by telling the good things they saw you do.

God, Today I give you everything, I give you my words, my actions and my whole heart. Take my life, I want to be Radically Pure in you. I don’t want to be filled with the stuff of this world, I want to be filled with you and you only. I pray that this sacrifice will make a difference in my school, that my friends will see the actions to the words i’m speaking, and they will see you in me.
