Hi! My name is Sarah, and I’m from, Vermont Secondary School in Melbourne.

Agape is a Greek word used in The Bible, IT MEANS LOVE, but not just any kind of love, It’s God’s unconditional, RADICAL love for us! (Romans 5:8) It’s used to describe love shown through ACTION, just as God showed us through Jesus! God loves because that is who He is, His nature— not because we deserve it.

It’s so often we hear “I’ve got fake people showing fake love to me, straight up to my face”. Fake love is shown when our talk doesn’t match 100% of our actions. Let’s not only tell of God’s love, but genuinely show God’s RADICAL love.

“Do my actions reflect God’s love that I talk to my friends about?"
1 John 4:9
“God SHOWED how much he loved us by sending his one and only son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.”

God showed His love for us through SACRIFICE. Because we have received what Christ has done for us, let's be totally compelled to radically love others, the same way God has shown us. Keep RADICALLY LOVING, even when it costs you something. Even when it means being out of your comfort zone, putting aside your status, sacrificing today's lunch money and tomorrow's precious time just so that radical agape love can be shown and eternities will be changed.

1 John 4:11-12
“Since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.”

As we take a stand for Jesus in our schools, the biggest way to reach out to others is to LOVE them RADICALLY so that God’s love is “brought to full expression in us". Radically love others, not only when they come into our Schools Revolution lunchtime groups or in church/youth, but all around, in that biology class, at the lockers, in the toilet line, when you send your streaks and even getting groceries with your mom!!

HOW can we show the RADICAL LOVE that LIVES IN US?
What is a RADICAL ACTION you will take TODAY to show God lives in us?

God, I thank you for the love you have first given me, shown through Jesus’ sacrifice on The Cross. I pray that you’ll help me to be genuine in the way I love others and my actions will show others who you are and how you love us all. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
